Finland was one of over 190 nations participating in the first World Expo in the Middle East, Expo 2020 Dubai from October 2021 to March 2022. The theme of the Dubai Expo was “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.

The Finland pavilion ‘Snow Cape’ was designed by JKMM Architects. Sun Effects was responsible for the lighting, sound and video design of the exhibition. The exhibition design was created in collaboration between Sun Effects, Futudesign, Flatlight Creative House and JKMM Architects. Over 1 million visitors stepped into the Snow Cape Pavilion during the expo.

The exhibition theme “Sharing Future Happiness” was reflected in our design as a symbiosis of people, nature, and technology. A visit to the pavilion offered an immersive experience to the Finnish values of happiness, circular economy, sustainability and innovations.

The exhibition was built by Audico and Goljat.
